Where design meets weaving — the encounter with ABAMC in Mogliano
Within the workshop Designing with Silence – Japanese Sustainable Interiors, promoted by the Interior Design Department of the Accademia di Belle Arti di Macerata (ABAMC), Bottega Intreccio took part in a shared experience with students, designers and local realities.
The initiative brought participants to Mogliano, where weaving remains an active part of the local productive fabric. Through workshops and laboratories, students had the opportunity to observe materials, tools and processes up close, engaging directly with craft knowledge.
The experience also included an exchange with local design practices, including Ripa Design, broadening the perspective on the relationship between contemporary design and territory.
The day concluded at the Scuola Carteca di Mogliano with a hands-on weaving session: a moment in which technical knowledge became experience, connecting hand, material and time.
The final talk by Japanese designer Nao Iwamatsu opened a reflection on the role of contemporary design, creating a dialogue between different cultures and approaches, united by a shared attention to materials and processes.
An experience that highlights how the territory can become an active space for learning and exchange, where tradition and design continue to intertwine.
